Reading the journal
This site serves static pages and locally hosted illustrations and styles. This version has no analytics scripts, advertising pixels, embedded third-party media, or active subscription form.
Newsletter form
The newsletter form is currently disabled. It does not submit or store the information you type. Before subscriptions open, this page will be updated to explain the subscription service, information used, and how to manage preferences.
Hosting and connection information
The web server logs ordinary connection information including IP address, requested page, time, response status and browser identification. Logs rotate daily, with up to 14 rotated files retained; the current log may also be present. This helps operate and troubleshoot the site.
External websites
If an article links to another website, that service handles information according to its own practices. This notice describes this site rather than external services.
